Playback Scheduler

Playback Scheduler is a feature that let you to start the playback at scheduled time, it can be integrated with Bookmark System and also has its own playlist. You can use it without the scheduling time as well.

 

To open a Playback Scheduler window click on the Scheduler button located at main software window ribbon bar in Media\Schedulers group

The Playback Scheduler window is divided into following parts:

 

Toolbar and Navigation Bar, which are grouping all the commands you can use to work with scheduler
Scheduler List
This list is a collection of files to play
Lists Collection
This is a collection of your lists with files to play. Each list may include unlimited number of files.

 

Toolbar Commands

 

Schedule

Select to turn on or turn off the scheduler
If On (a button at toolbar is checked) the timer is started and waiting for scheduled Start Time to start the playback.  If Off the timer is stopped.

 

Add Files

Add selected files from File Browse to current scheduler's list

  How to add:

Find media file that you want to add to a scheduler's its, use the File Browser for selecting files.

Click on this Add File button to add selected files.

Note: You can to add the whole playlist files or files from selected folders as well.

 

Add Playlist

Add playlist files from playlist from your database

 

Move Up

Moves selected items within the list Up

 

Move Down

Moves selected items within the list Down

 

Selection

Selection menu

 

Select All

Selects All items in a list

 

Deselect

Deselect list

 

Cut

Cut the selected items , data will be moved through the clipboard after use Paste command

 

Copy

Copy the selected items , data will be copied through the clipboard after use Paste command

 

Paste

Paste bookmarks items clipboard that has been selected by Cut or Copy command.

 

Play

Play menu

 

Play

Starts the playback of selected media file, audio or video.

 

Pause

Makes a pause in playback

 

Stop

Stops the playback

 

Previous

Play previous file on the list

 

Next

Play next file on the list

 

Order

Playback order options. here you can choose how the bookmarks will be played

Single File

Plays selected bookmark media file one time only.

Play In Order

Player will play all files in the order they appear on a list of bookmarks to play.

Play At Random

Instead of playing the files in the order they appear on the list. Player will select a bookmark's file at random to play

Repeat

The playback of current bookmark's file is repeating until is manually stopped

 


 

Scheduler's List

This list is a collection of files to play

List Columns:

File Group

Name

Name of media file to play.

Time

Playback time of media file

Location

Path to a file in your computer

 
Bookmark Group

Use

A check mark control. If checked then during the file playback assigned bookmark will be applied

Definition

A definition of a bookmark to use. You can choose the bookmark from drop down list. This list is listing all currently loaded bookmarks at Bookmarks list

 

Repeat Group

Use

A check mark control. If checked then playback of a file will be repeated as much as is specified in Times cell.

Times

Here you can enter how many times a playback of a file should be repeated. To not repeat enter 0 or leave the cell empty.

Name

 


 

Lists Collection

This a collection of your lists with files to play. Each list may include unlimited number of files.

List Columns:

List Name

A name of your list, you can edit this cell directly to change the list name if necessary.

Description

A description of list, this is optional data.

Created

A date when list was created

 

 


 

Navigation Bar
Navigation bar is window component that is grouping a few the commands you can use to work with files and commands for managing lists and setting up options.

 

List Group

 

Load

Load files from selected list at your lists collection. You can also have the list loaded automatically when you select list with mouse on Lists Collections.

The load behavior is controlled by the Load List On Selection property

 

Remove Items

Remove selected files from current list. To remove all files use Select All command form Selection menu and then click this button.

 

Print

Opens a Print Preview window where from you may print playlists or export their data to many external formats like PDF HTM TXT and more.

 

Schedule Start & End Group

This group has a set of control for settings the scheduler's start date and time.

 

You can use date controls to set the scheduler's start or end date and time controls to set the scheduler's start or end  time

 

The second control within group let you set the playback start date, is also editable but we recommend using calendar control.

calendar control will be opened when you click on an arrow button.

 

You can edit the time or date directly in the control's edit text box by selecting date or hour, minute or seconds and type the new value.

In addition you may use spin buttons, when pressed then the selected value of  hour, minute or seconds is changed on the control

The date controls has a drop down calendar to choose the date from.

 

Enable Finish Time

If checked then the finish time for scheduler's timer will be enabled. Otherwise it will not be enabled and the playback will continue to an end.

 

Lists Collection Group

 

New List

Creates new list. Created list is empty and you can start to adding files.

 

Delete Selected Lists

Delete selected lists

 

Delete All

Delete all lists from your lists collection.

 

Options Group

This group contains a few options for scheduler system

 

Turn on at startup

Select this option if you want to load last used list and start the playback when Scheduler window opens

Load last list

If this option is selected then last used list is automatically loaded, otherwise you will have to use the Load command to load list manually.

Confirm list items removal

If this option is selected then you will be asked to confirm before items removal

Confirm new list creation

If this option is selected then you will be asked to confirm before new list is created.

Start over at the end of the list

If this option is selected then when playback of files reaches the last file it will start over from the first bookmark on the list.

Check files playback time

Check media files playback time and include it into list when files are added from disk

This option may slow a little the playlist creation process. If not selected then file playback time will be updated automatically when playback of a file starts.

Use current date as start date

If selected then Scheduler will set at the opening current date as start date.

Load List On Selection

If this option is selected then files from list will loaded automatically when you select a list on Lists Collection
